Today we had one of my favorite dinners. Favorite because (1) it takes 20 minutes to make, (2) it costs pennies per serving, and (3) it's ooooh so yummy! Are you ready? It's cabbage and egg noodles. That's it. You boil the egg noodles according to the package, you cook the chopped up cabbage in butter for about 20 minutes, you mix the two together and add some s+p. Just the perfect dinner when I'm too tired to even think about dinner and the kids love it (Davis, not so much).
Sophia had her three year appointment this morning. Her blood pressure was 140/100 (twice). Her doctor agreed that she was stressed out. So he gave us some anxiety medication to give her before her tissue expansions, and as needed at night. So far this stuff ROCKS - she was asleep pretty much the minute her little head hit the pillow. Now we'll see if she stays asleep without nightmares. That's almost unimaginable right now.
I called the plastic surgeon this morning and told him we weren't comfortable going until an expander burst. But we did schedule a later surgery date. We'll go back on July 22nd to see if he wants to take the expanders out on July 30th. If not, then we'll have them taken out on September 2nd. That seems so, so far away. I'm sad that it looks like this will be her entire summer. I was hoping we'd get a few visits to the swimming pool in. Oh well. Luckily we have kiddie pools and sprinklers (and shade!!) in our backyard! And popsicles. Yum!
