It just occurred to me that I blog about Amelia more than Sophia, except Sophia's health problems, which is very strange, because Sophia is infinitely entertaining to me, and I find myself talking about her constantly. So, I thought I would share some things about Sophia, who went through a phase about a year ago of calling her daddy "Daddy Woah Woah" and me "Mommy Grown-up Ch___" (insert last name) - I thought it was rather fitting. Daddy started calling her Sophie Woah Woah in return, and it stuck. Total mommy-brag coming right up!
Sophia calls butterflies "flutterflies," which I also think is fitting and makes much more sense.
She told me the other day "flower seeds grow flowers, and bird seeds grow birds." In a way she's right.
When I told her we were having soup for dinner the other night, she informed me "I only want soup if it's chocolate soup. If not, then I want spaghetti."
Sometimes, she starts talking and just won't stop. I mean, she talks and talks and talks for like an HOUR, just barely taking breaths in between sentences. The other night she actually said "I'm tired from talking so much" but it sure didn't stop her! What a trooper. I have NO idea where she gets that from ;)
She said "Jesus lives in your heart, and that makes him EVEN BETTER!" kind of in a car-dealership ad voice.
She asks me really hard questions that make me wonder whether I'm qualified to be a mom, like, "do pigs have belly buttons?" I don't know how people pulled off parenthood before Google... I found out that, yes, all placental mammals such as pigs (and dogs) have belly buttons - they're just tiny scars that you can't really see.
The other night, Sophia got Amelia and herself all dressed up in gowns and announced "me and Amelia are getting married, because we love each other forever!"
But, when she's mad at Amelia, she calls her "whatever her name is!"
And I'm afraid she's also learning some dirty little mom tricks from me already... I overheard her say while coloring, "no, Amelia, I don't need your help... go over there and play, and mommy will get you a cookie."
Sometimes she speaks in Seuss...when I put Sophia in time out and she screamed at me "out out with you! we don't want you in this zoo!!" really angry... I had to RUN out of the room because I was laughing so hard.
And, that's just one week's worth of Sophia-isms. She's a constant source of entertainment. And even better, she has a heart of gold - she is the most empathetic little three year old I have ever known, and she will do just about anything in the world to make someone feel better.
Doing laundry...
