Crafty Saturday

Our first order of business this morning was to drop my sewing machine off at the repair shop. I've been in a real sewing mood lately, but haven't been able to use my machine. The hook needle timing needs adjustment, which I did not think would take several weeks to get fixed - YIKES!

The girls and I then headed to Hobby Lobby to stock up on McCalls patterns - on sale for 99 cents. I only buy patterns when they're really on sale, and then I use them over and over again. I got three dress patterns for the girls (which also have some skirts and tops in them). Then I got enough fabric to make two dresses for the girls and a changing pad, and also some scrapbook paper (see below) - all for $30! YAY!

After a quick pit stop at Chick Fil A, we headed home so Amelia could take a nap. While she was sleeping, Sophia thought of making some hanging bird food from a giant bowl of leftover popcorn that we had... I have no idea if birds eat leftover popcorn, but Sophia was really proud of them

Then, both the girls and I made a little cardboard doll house - I did the cutting the gluing, they did the designing and artwork for the walls, and Sophia made tiny cardboard people to live in the house.

And now while they play with it, I need to go clean up the huge mess we made during construction.
