4 a.m. Update

***Noon Update***

I am home!!! I am thankful and happy to be home!!! I had no more contractions after 5:30, so my doctor said I could go back to bed rest at home. My blood pressure was having some trouble staying up, so she decided to try sending me home without any tocolytics (those are the drugs they were giving me to stop contractions). I have a follow up appointment with her Tuesday to see how it's working out. Of course if I start having contractions again before then, we'll have to reevaluate. But for now, all is calm. I'm pretty worn out (and Henry must be too - he's been doing gymnastics all night and morning!) so I am going to unplug everything and take a nap. I LOVE all the phone calls and visitors - thank you!! - but I am going to tune out for the rest of the day in my little wood-paneled gestating cave :)

***update 8 am***

My contractions finally stopped at 5:30 yay!! The brethine made me feel kind of lousy, though, so I was hooked up to some extra stuff and couldn't post. But I'm feeling fine now. They're keeping me on the procardia. Henry is still doing great, although I think in an attempt to prove he wasn't planning on coming out, he flipped breach in the middle of the night. Little stinker! Hopefully he has lots of time to flip back. I am waiting to see my doctor this morning, to find out when I can go home. Thank you for the prayers!!!

First of all, in great news - Henry is doing fabulous! In fact, he's driving my nurse a little crazy, because he won't stay on the heart monitor. That's my boy :)

Also, when I first came in, my cervix hadn't changed from Wednesday (double yay!!) and my OB told me that, if they got my contractions to stop and my cervix didn't change any more while I'm here, I can go back home on bed rest. I've never been happier to hear the words bed rest - as long as I can go home!

In less great news, they have not been able to get my contractions to stop. YET - they're getting there. They gave me a drug called Procardia, which did slow them down a little. They are now trying Brethine, which will hopefully knock them out totally.

Welcome back, Vera...you have been busy. Or rather, little Henry has been busy, causing his mama to slow way down! I love the name. My James' middle name is Henry. Praying for you...may you feel God's peace envelope you. Praying that He will continue to keep you both safe and that Henry will be born only when he is perfectly ready. I am catching up and it looks like you had a lovely Christmas. Blessings to you in the coming year!

Love,
Kelly

I am glad to hear that the contractions haves stopped but I am sorry that the medicine is making you feel yucky.

I am just thankful that you had already gotten your second steroid shot for that little stinker. Hopefully he stays in there for another month or so and flips back around. :)
