Happy New Year! and a Bed Rest Report

Happy New Year! I actually did stay up past midnight last night, only because I couldn't sleep - then I woke up at 7 a.m., even though I had no reason to get out of bed all day. It's just hard to sleep when you don't DO anything all day!

But I am feeling really good about this year. Something about the number 2010 looks so - clear. 2009 wasn't a bad year, it just felt cluttered in a lot of ways. Being on bed rest is forcing me to focus and slow down, something that never comes easily to me. I want to be more focused, more still, more simple this year.

Things are going well with baby Henry and me. I've been having some contractions, but they haven't been as strong or as regular as before, and so far my OB has been okay with me staying home. This is a HUGE praise, because I do not want to end up on hospital bed rest! I got my second steroid shot for Henry's lungs yesterday, which was good for my piece of mind.

Speaking of praises, I am so lucky and spoiled by my awesome friends. My friend who lives next door came by and brought me movies yesterday, and this evening another friend came by with a decaf peppermint mocha, some dinner (including black eyed peas for good luck!), magazines, pajamas, and this awesome oatmeal molasses bread from my favorite bakery. I don't know if it's because I've been drinking nothing but tons of water or what, but that mocha was like the best thing I have ever put in my mouth! YUM! I have more friends stopping by tomorrow, and I'm so looking forward to it. How lucky am I to have such awesome friends?! I feel immeasurably blessed!

I sat on the couch yesterday and made myself a little pencil holder and matching note card holder, and I'm working on a matching clipboard, for my little nightstand desk :)

I don't know why Photo Booth takes mirror image pictures, but the notecard has Romans 12:12 on it, which is so perfect for me right now:

Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.

I am so excited for you girly. I haven't kept up with blogs because of school, but I am so glad your posted today. I can't believe you're having a little boy--how fantastic!!

That is wonderful that he got his second steroid shot just in case--meanwhile, try to relax at home so you can stay out of the hospital for bed rest.
