Toad Suck (Really)

I took the kids to a local street festival called Toad Suck Daze. It's in Conway, about thirty minutes from here, and that what it's really called.

The girls loved it. It was their first time riding on rides. And even though the rides were old and dinky, they LOVED loved loved it. They were so happy! When the little dragon thingies got to the top, Amelia was yelling "Hey Everybody!" and waving at everyone as she came by.

They were also unreasonably excited about these dumb plastic hammer things that they won shooting basketball hoops.

One of the biggest hits was a giant sandpit filled with shovels and pails - they probably could have spent hours in there. But when a little boy started throwing sand at me, I decided it was time to find more lemonade (I can get my kids to do anything if it involves lemonade).

Did you know there's such a thing as chicken fried bacon? Seriously. We didn't have any. I had a really yummy gyros and the girls had hot dogs and chocolate dipped banana.

Amelia loved the music. We need to take her to more live music events - there are plenty around here. Kris Allen is from Conway. But he wasn't there. The bands that were there were okay, though. And Amelia didn't care.

This was Henry the whole time.

Check out those eyelashes!

I wish I'd gotten more pictures. But really, I was working pretty hard to make sure I had an eye on the girls at every nanosecond.

My friend Carla (the one who was there when Henry was born) lives in Conway, so we visited her and her family. Actually it was great - we were able to use her bathroom and avoid portapotties, I could nurse and change Henry, and I got to sit and visit with her (which was honestly a much more fun reason to visit Conway for me than Toad Suck Daze).

But the best part of all - the girls PASSED OUT at bedtime. Mission accomplished!

P.S. Thanks for the prayers and well wishes - we all feel a LOT better (obviously!) I still have a cough, but Henry seems to be back to 100%.
