So, time travel back to Memorial Day...
Sunday night, I met my mom and my brother and sister in law at the Peabody where they were staying. We had a nice grown up dinner, which was so lovely and relaxing after all the excitement of our very kid-filled weekend. It was quiet and dim and there was yummy wine and bread pudding involved. Need I say more? Afterwards, we walked a block to watch the fireworks at the end of Riverfest, and they were fabulous! I'm so thankful that Henry has Victor for a Godfather, and I'm so excited about their new baby - I can't wait to meet him or her this fall!!
Then Monday morning, the kids and I went out to my dad's hotel to go swimming in the morning. It was Henry's first time! He was completely unimpressed
The girls, however, had a great time swimming!
Then my brother and sister in law and the kids and I went out to lunch, and then we took them to the airport. Then my dad came over a little later than we had planned, so rather than him making sloppy joes for dinner like I always make him do when he comes over (you'd understand if you ever had my dad's sloppy joes!) I used the leftover brunch ingredients to make breakfast for dinner.
It was a really fabulous weekend, but by Sunday night, we were all worn out
Tuesday morning I returned to work at the office full time. Honestly, it has been my easiest back-to-work transition. First, it was a four day week because of the holiday. And then Tuesday, my first day back, Henry had his four month appointment, so I got to see him at lunch for a little over an hour. And then Friday I left work a little early to get ready for Sophia's party. It's still hard to leave him all day. I'm so, so thankful that he is able to be at home with his Daddy - knowing he is at home and with a parent, and now that it's summer surrounded by his sisters, makes it so much easier.

Your weekend sounds like so much fun! I'm glad your back to work transition was easy, I bet it must be hard leaving the little man. That is awesome that you got to have a grown up dinner, I'm sure it was much needed.
