1. I blogged about how I was looking forward to seeing Henry's face when he first sees our Christmas tree, since he missed out on the decorating fun. Well, about an hour later - at 11 p.m. - Henry woke up super excited and ready to check out the tree! He was so cute, and I kinda loved it, even though he was NOT supposed to be awake.
It reminded me of the exact same reaction that his sisters had to their first Christmas tree. At first he stared in wonder.
And then he started un-decorating.
Look - his teeth!
Does this look like a kid who's about to go back to bed?
He didn't think so either, but too bad! After 45 minutes of admiring the tree and hanging out, he got stuck back in bed and eventually did get back to sleep.
2. A couple of nights ago, I was hanging out with my friend Lisa who is a kindergarten teacher (and really, a saint), and I was telling her all the things I couldn't handle about her job. And I said that I can't handle throw up, and I was so thankful that my kids have NEVER thrown up (except Sophia sort of did, related to meds/surgery in the hospital). I even knocked on the porch swing when I said it. But... Sophia woke up 10 minutes after Henry went back to sleep and was awake from midnight until 4:30 a.m., throwing up every thirty minutes. It was so sad and pitiful, she kept crying and saying "this is the worst night EVER!" Davis had to work Saturday, so I stayed up with her until we both couldn't stand it anymore and laid down together. Then she threw up on my hair. I felt so bad for her. Luckily she woke up feeling totally fine, and after some Pedialyte, waiting, and then a piece of toast, she was deemed healed.
(P.S. I have never won the lottery)

Oh....poor girl...and poor mama. Throwing up is noooo fun! Doesn't it seem to work that way...as soon as we say something never happens...it happens! I loved your P.S. =)
And, I loved the pics of sweet Henry seeing the tree.
This post just made me smile! =)
The "Mamma" takes over when it is your own child sick. Whenever I have a child with a tummy issues....I move the trash can next to their chair:) and call for Miss C., ha!
Hi Vera...It just goes along with being a momma I guess. Not fun...but it happens to everyone! (:>) Kiddos just have to hurl once in awhile sweetie. (Too bad she got it in your hair though!)
I hope she is much better by now. Oh, and good luck keeping the little guy away from the tree...it just seems to draw them in! Ha!
God will give you grace!
Love, Linda
