It's Soccer Time!

Sophia had her first game of the season this morning. It's been SO crazy warm this winter, but this morning was CHILLY!! We play on fields right by the river, and there is a cold wind blowing, and at 8:30 in the morning the sun wasn't high enough to warm us up. Brrrr!

Wyatt stayed warm and snuggly in the Ergo (and zipped up in my jacket!) - he actually snoozed through most of the game

Henry had the best time. He found a little boy who played soccer with him off to the side of the field.

And Sophia did GREAT! I was so proud of her! Last season she was really timid and had a hard time putting herself "out there" or going after the game. Today they actually played a bunch of 2nd and 3rd graders who seemed huge to me (and I'm sure even huger to the girls!) but Sophia's team (of 1st graders) held their own and put up a good fight, especially in the second half.

Sophia was much more aggressive and played great. But it cracked me up - whenever she kicked the ball, she would look over to make sure I saw it and then smile really big! LOVE IT!

It has been a busy few weeks. Last night was the kids' school auction, which was fun. But a friend of mine came up to me right after I got there and I know I had that total deer in the headlights look on my face - after a long week and then getting the kids set with the babysitter and myself ready to go out, once I actually got there, I was dazed LOL!
