Sophia's Pajamas and Pancakes Party

Sophia turned seven on Thursday!  (Unfortunately she'd been telling everyone she was seven for several months, so it wasn't quite as exciting ha!)

Her morning started with our traditional birthday balloons breakfast - she chose cinnamon rolls.  Sleepy eyed.

Our friends were in town for the night, so we got to celebrate with them - we had EIGHT kids between us, so fun!

On her birthday, Sophia stayed up way too late with me.  Just the two of us read books and goofed off, and it was so nice to spend a little time with just her that I didn't make her go to bed until way past her bedtime.

Then today, Sophia had her pajamas and pancakes birthday party.  Everyone showed up in their pajamas at 10:00 a.m. and we had pancakes :)

When I say "pancakes" I really mean one little pancake completely buried in whipped cream, chocolate chips, sprinkles, and chocolate syrup.

After pancakes, the girls decorated plain white pillowcases using the sharpie tie dye method and some fabric markers.  This was so fun and easy!

You just put a plastic cup under the fabric, secure it with a rubber band, and draw designs on it with Sharpie markers.

Then you drop rubbing alcohol on it.

And let it dry.  Stick in the dryer to heat set, and you've got a neat tie dye effect that lasts.  We also used regular fabric markers to write on the pillowcases.  I like crafts that double as party favors.

The girls ran around in the backyard, painted their nails, and played in Sophia's room for a while.

Then we had cake and presents.

Sophia sat down with a pad of paper and pencil last week and drew a picture of what she wanted for a cake - chocolate cake with white icing, M&M's around the sides, and "happy birthday sophia" written in chocolate.  I told Sophia I wasn't sure I could write on a cake with chocolate, and she told me my options were to just buy a cake from the bakery (no) or get on the internet and learn how.  HA ha!  So that's what I did, even though I had no parchment paper, which 100% of the websites say you have to have.  But obviously you don't :)

Sophia got some pretty awesome gifts.

Wyatt-passing was another activity.

I LOVE these girls - they are the sweetest, and I couldn't ask for better friends for Sophia.

It was a perfect, happy, laid back party.  Davis and I even got a nap in the afternoon while the boys were napping and the girls were playing with Sophia's new toys - I think I love morning parties!
