Knock Knock

Who's there?
Chicken
{hysterical laughter}

That was the first of hundreds of knock knock jokes Sophia made up. Sometimes she tells real ones, like

Knock knock?
Who's there?
Doris
Doris who?
Doris shut, that's why I'm knocking

Sometimes it's a hybrid like

Knock knock?
Who's there?
Banana
Banana who?
Banana why are you knocking

And sometimes she just speaks in knock knock joke

Knock knock
Who's there?
I'm still hungry
I'm still hungry who?
I'm still hungry and I'd like more noodles

But for some reason, the one that makes us all laugh is that interrupted chicken one. Sometimes just the word chicken will send us into a fit of giggles.

So we went to Barnes and Noble to get a book of Knock Knock Jokes, which reminded me that I wanted to share some of our favorite children's books (I know Lynnette posted about doing this too - I can't wait to see hers!)

We love books around here.

Great list of books. I'm also planning a post about books and some of our favorites in the next few days. Blogger has been very strange. I just watched a 3 minute clip of your daughters reading books (very cute!!!) and now it's not showing up. Strange.

Thanks for the list, Vera! We are always looking for new books to add to their little library. Of course...it seems like I read the same Fancy Nancy books over and over again, LOL! I need to choose the books more often, but I do like The Grinch that Stole Christmas (read that one the last two days). It shows that it is MORE than just about presents! Anya is definitely our reader. Kai is starting to be able to read the simple books now, but not Anya yet. She just loves to be read books and will retell the story afterwards. :)

Just thought I would post a link to a children's book that I've actually written... it's called Two Snowflakes and it's available as a free e-book at twosnowflakes.net Just in case you're looking for something new to read! :-)
