Just a Little Note

I have no new pictures! Very sad.

My dad has been in town.

It's been really hot here. Pretty much I can't bring myself to leave the house on weekends. I can't wait for cooler weather - I always say that on August 1st and then I realize it's two months until cooler weather and I cry.

Work has been unrelenting.

Tonight Sophia and I went to a water park for a welcome back to school party for her new school, and I had way, way more fun that I thought I would. When we first got there it was hot and crowded and loud, and I was cranky and hot and had a headache. Then my iced coffee from Starbucks with an Advil chaser kicked in, it got dark and cooled off, and all the people except our group left the park - and it was so much fun! I did all the rides and pools with Sophia and then we ate watermelon and visited with old and new friends from school.

Earlier today Henry's BFF William, who lives next door and was born a month after him, was baptized and we went to a brunch in his honor. Henry even let other people hold him.

It's 4:33 a.m. and I have insomnia, and so does Amelia. She's laying here on my lap making whistling noises with her nose and smiling.

Henry's new favorite food is watermelon - he dives for it and makes a loud ummm-yummm sound while gnawing and sucking on it.

Four days until Texas Pool Party 2010! The kids and I are headed to my friend Kristy's house like last year and I can't wait! I mean really, really can't wait! She's putting ice in her pool, for real. And Kristy, Julie and I are going to Ikea. And our NINE children (3 more than last year) will play until they crash.

We've been looking at houses. Like this one

I'm not kidding. We're crazy and we love old houses. Our realtor keeps trying to show us sensible houses in the suburbs. But we're just not sensible suburbs people.

Amelia just showed me that she can recognize about half the letters of the alphabet and all the numbers from 1 to 10. I had no idea. Good thing she has insomnia too.

And because I have no new pictures, just for fun... here is a picture of Sophia at Henry's age

Loved seeing the pics of the girls when they were babies! I love old houses too! Corey and I actually thought about it for a while. Over there by "your church". (without giving out too much information). Anyway, kindergarten is almost here...oh my goodness!
