I am so, so happy to be home!! Florida was lovely, it was even a little magical - on the way to dinner with some friends Tuesday night, we saw a bunny in the bushes and then a rainbow.
Dinner was good. I gorged myself on sea food while I was down there. And I was telling my friends that I successfully fought off that nasty cold that was trying to catch me over the weekend. And then, right after dinner, I started feeling hot. I went to the bathroom to put cold water on my face, but those clever people had automatic faucets that only spewed out icky warm water. I looked so horrible when I got back to the table, that my friends immediately ran and got ice water from the bar and dunked napkins in it to stick on my neck and head. After we paid, I ran outside and felt a little better in the fresh air. But I was still queasy and clammy. And then... a horrible night, even after taking Unisom, I was up most of the night feeling very bad. Wednesday morning I got up at 6 a.m. to get ready for my flight home, and I started throwing up. I'll spare you all the gross details, but let me just say that an extremely sore and swollen sore throat combined with vomiting is BAD. I really don't remember the rest of the day, I just concentrated on getting home (except when I passed out - literally - on the plane). I felt SO bad that I got home too sick to do much, though I did somehow manage to pick up Sophia from school - I loved seeing her face when she realized it was me in the car!
Yesterday really was horrible, I had a fever all day, was throwing up, had a bad cold, and my throat was killing me. Just walking across a room completely wore me out. But I took another Unisom last night and slept eleven hours, and woke up feeling MUCH better this morning, which was good because I knew I had a bear of a day at work awaiting me. And I did. By 3 p.m. I was so worn out. But I made it through and even bathed the kids and put them to bed tonight.
I am so, SO happy to be home with them!! Sophia has been so sweet - taking care of me, bringing me orange juice and PBJ sandwiches (her recipe for what would make me feel better yesterday) and little "I love you" notes written on napkins. Amelia is totally cracking me up singing "we all live on a lellow sump-marine!" And this guy, do you know what this is?
That's one very excited boy showing off how he can WALK!!
That's right, he's taking 3 or 4 steps at a time! He won't do it for Davis, and he still prefers to crawl when he wants to get around quickly, but he is VERY proud of himself. And we are too!
I'll live. My ribs are so sore from coughing and throwing up, and I have no voice, but I think I am on the mend. Either way, I am happy to be sleeping my own bed with my honey to keep me warm. I am happy to be throwing up in my very own toilet and showering in my own shower. And I am VERY happy to have three funny kids to keep me laughing even when I feel crummy!
And a fourth, who I will get to see again next Wednesday - this is the first week in several weeks that I haven't had an ultrasound, and I'm getting anxious. To help me cope, I am torturing Davis about baby names. We had NO trouble naming the girls, but with Henry, oh boy. He almost didn't have a name. We agreed on his middle name right away, and this time too we both like the same middle name. But Davis doesn't like my first name, and I don't like his. So my new strategy is to write on his bathroom mirror

Poor girl, I'm so sorry. Everything sounds miserable, I hope the PB&J remedy is working for you.
I love your little name trick, I hope it work for the hubby. FYI, I love the name Wyatt!
So glad you're home and so sad you're sick...I hope you feel better soon...love the name too...
Oh no...I am so sorry that you are so sick! "There's no place like home", as we say here in Kansas...especially when you are sick.
I sure hope the kids don't get it.
How fun that the little guy is walking! But soon he will be all over the place. Good that you have a couple of helpers to help you keep track of him! Ha!
Sophia sounds like a good helper, and that was sweet that she is wanting to take care of mom.
Feel better soon!
